State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) is bringing his Community Connections Tour to Stephenson County on August 28 with an event in Freeport. Joining the Senator as a co-host for the meeting is Stephenson County Board Chairman Scott Helms.
“This will be my fifth Community Connections meeting in the 45th Senate District, with previous events held in Genoa, Rockton, Machesney Park, and Savanna,” said Chesney. “Every event has been well-attended and I am expecting another large turnout in Freeport on the 28th.”

A town hall meeting format will be utilized. Chesney will provide a brief update on the completed 2014 legislative session, but the majority of the time will be reserved for a question and answer session.
“I will talk about the budget and some other bills that passed this year, and then Chairman Helms and I will field questions from those who attend the forum,” Chesney said. “I look forward to talking with community members about issues that are important to them and invite everyone who lives in and around Freeport to attend.”
