Advocating for Northwest Illinois in Statewide Infrastructure Decisions

Northwest Illinois continues to have a seat at the table when it comes to infrastructure planning. I recently took part in a productive conversation with State Representatives Joe Sosnowski and John Cabello, along with Illinois Department of Transportation Secretary Gia Biagi, about transportation priorities and the broader needs of the region.

Infrastructure should never be about red or blue politics. It is about public safety and making smart investments that allow communities to function and plan responsibly for the future. When infrastructure decisions are made with long-term impact in mind, communities are better equipped to rely on the systems they use every day.

Discussions like this matter because they help ensure Northwest Illinois remains part of the statewide conversation as priorities are set. Thoughtful planning today plays an important role in supporting long-term growth and regional stability.

I appreciate Secretary Biagi and the Illinois Department of Transportation staff for taking the time to engage in this discussion and for recognizing the importance of Northwest Illinois in statewide infrastructure planning. Thank you to Representative John Cabello for hosting this meeting and bringing stakeholders together.
