I had the opportunity to visit the Meiborg facility and sit down with owner and CEO Zach Meiborg, a constituent from the 45th District. Touring the operation was a valuable look at the work and coordination required to keep a successful trucking business moving day in and day out.
Our discussion focused on issues affecting the trucking industry, particularly the importance of fair and consistent enforcement of existing laws. Zach spoke about his support for President Trump and his administration’s efforts to address illegal immigration and CDL abuse, emphasizing how weak enforcement allows bad actors to gain an unfair advantage. When companies follow the rules, but others do not, it puts responsible businesses and American workers at a disadvantage.
Ensuring CDL standards are properly enforced is essential to maintaining safety and fairness across the industry. Conversations like this help inform my work and ensure policy decisions reflect real-world challenges.
