Thank you to everyone who came out to our Community Shred Event in Machesney Park this weekend. We were excited to welcome more than 300 residents from across the 45th District who took advantage of the opportunity to safely dispose of sensitive documents and help protect themselves from identity theft.
I was proud to partner with Mayor Steve Johnson to host this event and provide a free service that helps local families securely get rid of old paperwork and personal records. Events like this are a simple but meaningful way to support our communities and connect with residents outside of Springfield.
I also want to thank everyone who helped make the event possible, including the volunteers, staff, and shredding crew who kept things organized and running smoothly throughout the morning. Their hard work helped make the event a success.
We truly enjoyed meeting with residents and appreciate everyone who took the time to stop by and participate. I look forward to continuing to host community events that provide helpful resources and bring people together across the district.
