FREE Community Shred Event – Machesney Park
You’re invited to a FREE Community Shred Event hosted by State Senator Andrew Chesney and Machesney Park Mayor Steve Johnson on May 16, 2026. This event gives residents the opportunity to safely and securely dispose of sensitive documents and protect themselves from identity theft.
Bring your old bank statements, tax returns, bills, receipts, credit card applications, and outdated medical records and have them shredded on-site.

When: Saturday, May 16 | 9:00 A.M. – 12:00 P.M.
Where: The Machesney Town Center (Former Machesney Park Mall)

(Large parking lot behind Starbucks in front of the former JCPenney)
Event Details:
Two banker boxes of paper documents per vehicle will be accepted
No electronics will be accepted
Documents will be shredded on-site
Event ends at 12:00 P.M. or when the truck reaches capacity
