Reminder: Make Your Voice Heard in the March 17 Primary
The Illinois primary election is coming up on March 17, and I want to remind everyone across the 45th District to take part in this important civic responsibility.
Voting is one of the most fundamental rights we have as Americans. It is the way citizens make their voices heard and take part in shaping the future of their communities, our state, and of course our country.
As your state senator, it is not my role to advocate for any particular candidate or outcome in a primary election. My goal is simply to encourage participation and remind people how important it is for citizens to stay engaged in the democratic process.
I encourage everyone who is eligible to take a few minutes to cast a ballot. Elections are decided by those who show up, and every vote contributes to the strength of our democracy.
If you have not yet made a plan to vote, now is a good time to do so. Civic participation helps ensure that government remains accountable to the people it serves.

Six Months Later, Charlie Kirk’s Movement Lives On
Last Tuesday marked six months since the death of Charlie Kirk. Even now, it is still difficult to grasp that he is no longer with us.
His death should serve as a solemn reminder that violence has no place in our political discourse. Political disagreements are part of a free society, but they must remain disagreements and never cross the line into violence.
Charlie Kirk rose to become one of the leading voices in the modern conservative movement and inspired millions of Americans to stand boldly for the principles that built this country. In an era when those principles are constantly challenged, he refused to stay quiet and never hesitated to speak clearly about what he believed.
Charlie founded Turning Point USA and built it into one of the most influential conservative youth organizations in the country. What began as an effort to challenge the liberal dominance on college campuses grew into a nationwide movement that energized young conservatives across America.
The movement he helped build continues to grow. A new generation of conservatives are carrying the torch forward.
Eastland Cougars Make Impressive Run to State Semifinals
Congratulations Eastland High School on a terrific boys’ basketball season. The Cougars represented the district well in this year’s playoffs and made an impressive run all the way to the IHSA Class 1A state semifinals.
Moments like this show what makes small-town communities so special. When a team from a small school makes a deep run in the state tournament, the entire community rallies behind them. Students, families, and neighbors all come together to support the players and celebrate their success.
As an Eastland graduate, it is always special to see the Cougars competing at such a high level and representing our area so well on the state stage.
Congratulations to the team on a memorable season and a playoff run that made the whole community proud.
