On Monday, the Supreme Court of the United States ruled unanimously that no state has the power or authority to remove Donald Trump from the presidential ballot. In response to the decision, State Senator Andrew Chesney (R-Freeport) issued the following statement:
“The U.S. Supreme Court has put the progressive left in check and has sent a strong message to liberal Democrats that want to circumvent the election process by interfering with ballot access. The U.S. Supreme Court justices correctly sent the decision-making power back to the voters, where it belongs. This unanimous ruling signals that liberal activism will not be tolerated and that our political differences should be decided at the ballot box and not in the court system.”
